For the first time since joining the club, Mara Sugar FC goalkeeper Felix Adoyo captained the team in a league match against Mathare United.
The Trans Mara-based side faced off with the Slum Boys on Saturday 18 January at the Awendo Green Stadium emerging 3-0 victors.
Two quickfire goals from David Owino and Batts Awita coupled with a second-half strike from Noah Jagongo were all that Mara needed to bag all three points.

The Kisumu-born and bred custodian shared the biggest lessons learnt after captaining his team.
"I am thankful to the coach for entrusting me with the chance to lead the team. I have been under a number of captains and I have learnt a couple of things on top of the list is being humble and leading by experience,” Adoyo told the club's media.
Adoyo joined Mara in August 2023 while the club was plying its trade in the National Super League (NSL) with a dream of playing in Kenya's top flight.
The shot-stopper was instrumental in their promotion charge, keeping 15 clean sheets on course to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) for the first time in their existence.
In the current league season, the dreadlocked goalkeeper has managed to keep six clean sheets and made several crucial saves for his side which continues to acclimatize to top-flight football.
The win over Mathare left Mara Sugar in position nine of the league standings with 22 points, just five points away from the relegation zone.
The reigning NSL champions will take to the pitch once again on Sunday 27 January when they host high-flying Kenya Police in a FKF Premier League match at Awendo Green Stadium.
