The Kenyan boy could soon end his underwhelming stint in Serie A

Twenty-six appearances and just two goals is not what Divock Origi and AC Milan had in mind when they arranged a free transfer for the Kenyan-Belgian striker from Liverpool. But the Anfield cult hero could soon return to the English Premier League, with Aston Villa being the latest club to show interest in the 27-year-old attacker.

Calcio Mercato has claimed that Origi could soon say "farewell" to the San Siro, with the forward competing with veteran strikers Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic for minutes. Despite struggling to make an impact in Serie A, the Italian outlet has stated that there is "no shortage" of Premier League sides keeping an eye on Origi's situation.

According to the Italian website, several clubs have already inquired about the Kenyan boy - with West Ham United, Crystal Palace and Leeds United joining Aston Villa on the list of admirers. Everton have also been mentioned, but it's claimed Origi's ties to Liverpool are too strong for a switch to Goodison Park. Origi played 175 times for the Reds, winning the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and Club World Cup during his time at Anfield.

Ollie Watkins is currently the best striker for the Villans, but head coach Unai Emery is looking to add options as he continues to improve the traditional club. Emery recalled Burkinabe attacker Bertrand Traore from his loan in January because Milan were unwilling to talk about a potential move for Origi. Still, the Spaniard isn't giving up because he sees Origi as someone who would improve his squad and add to the competition.

Origi's estimated market value is around $8 million.
