The prolific striker won't play on Saturday in Ligue 1. Without him, on Tuesday, it will be a mission impossible for Mauricio Pochettino's side
Kylian Mbappe has been sidelined from PSG Ligue 1 game against Lens on Saturday due to a calf injury. This situation has raised concerns over his possible absence for the crucial Champions League return leg against Manchester City next Tuesday.
Mbappe's inavailability this weekend against fifth-placed Lens is a big blow for PSG's title hopes as only two points separate the top three teams.
The 22-year old suffered an injury against Metz, so the question was whether he would be ready even for the first match with City. However, the Frenchman recovered, played the fixtures against the Citizens, but failed to live up to expectations, to say the least. And then he got hurt again. Or it's just a matter of saving him for the UCL second-leg.
If it turns out that Mbappe is really seriously injured and that he will not be able to recover for the City tie on May 2, it will be music for the ears of the Citizens. Bernardo Silva said after the match in Paris:
"It would be much easier to play with Mbappe than against him."
It just says how much the City is afraid of the elusive goal scorer, who lurks every meter of free space to escape the guards and make a shot.
