Red-hot Nairobi United forward Duncan Omalla is destined for greatness, at least in the eyes of his coach Salim Ali and midfielder Brian Mzee.

The former Manyatta United striker is riding on electric form, scoring five goals in January for Nairobi United.

His latest wad an audacious wonder goal in their 2-1 loss to Tanzania's Azam FC.

The 18-year-old found the back of the net in the 13th minute to open the scoring in their CAF Confederation Cup (CAF CC) Group B at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Apart from his goals, Omalla has been tormenting opposition defense with his speed and long throw ins.

“For his age, the way he is growing in the team and his career, he is doing great. If we have a player who scores both in the local league and in international matches, it is also good for us,” Ali told the club’s Media.

The tactician’s words were echoed by Mzee, one of the players tasked with shielding the defence.

“He is having a good run. He is working hard even in training and should keep pushing himself. If he continues that way, he is for sure destined for greatness,” said Mzee.

The former Nairobi City Stars midfielder also weighed in on why the reigning the Mozzart Bet Cup Champions lost to Azam.

“It was not our day. We lacked the composure and confidence to protect our lead after going ahead,” he added.

Nonetheless, Mzee exuded confidence in the team's ability to turn around results.

“We are going to give our all in Zanzibar because we have a chance. I am a strong believer and therefore confident of getting positive results in the return leg,” he stated.

Naibois will be away to Azam for the return leg of the match on Sunday ,1 February at the Azam Complex Stadium from 1900 hrs.
