Mara, who missed promotion narrowly last season, heads into the match on the back of a 3-2 win in what was coach Vincent Nyaberi's first game in charge of the milers and will be hoping to dispatch the struggling MCF to keep pace with the league leaders Mathare United.

On the other hand, under the tutelage of Robert Arasa Orangi, MCF approach the match under pressure to rescue the already sinking season aiming to register their second win of the term as they foster a way out of the relegation bracket.

Speaking ahead of the game, Mara assistant coach Godfrey Naibei admitted that it will not be a walk in the park, as they face a side under pressure to deliver and arrest their recent run of poor results.

They (MCF FC) have a very good defense and their strikers are also very sharp. It will not be an easy match and we need to be concentrated throughout the game. Having started well the season, we want to keep that momentum and ensure we pick maximum win and keep the pressure on Mathare and Kisumu at the top,” noted Naibei who has been with the Mara since their time in the fourth division.

The Sugar Men have however received a boost ahead of the encounter with the dependable duo of Robert Obaga and David Owino fit for the clash while Joseph Okwenda, Erick Ngiela, and Mohammed Baraza will continue to watch the action from the fence.

It is worth noting that, Mara boost a good statistical record in the fixture having won three out of four of the previous four meetings while keeping a clean sheet in each instance.

Victory for Mara will take them two points behind league leaders Mathare United suppose the former Premier League fails to collect maximum points in Kajiado.
