The win sees them open a ten-point gap at the top

Cornelius Juma returned to haunt his former employers as he scored the all-important goal for Shabana FC in a 1-0 win over Mwatate United in Wundanyi on Friday afternoon.

The win helped the league leaders open a ten-point gap at the top, although second-placed Murang’a Seal now have three games in hand and have a chance of reducing the gap between them and the Gusii-based side to one point should they win the matches.

The Glamour Boys needed to win in order to maintain their advantage at the top, and Juma, who was with Mwatate in 2021, scored the all-important goal of the match in the 26th minute. They defended their advantage to walk away with the maximum points from the duel. Up next for Shabana is a home match against Naivas FC.
