Obino is currently nursing a knee injury
Murang'a Seal right back Humphrey Obino cannot wait to shake off a knee injury and make his Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) debut.
Obino is among the handful of Murang'a Seal's players who missed their league opener against Shabana last Sunday at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homabay due to an injury.
The right back was looking forward to his top flight bow against Shabana but hurt his knee in training and will as a result be sidelined for the next two weeks.
Seal had a dream start of life in the top flight after beating Shabana 1-0 in Homabay courtesy of a stoppage time goal from Batts Awita who joined the club from Bidco United.
Obino, told Mozzart Sport that he was longing for a quick recovery so as to achieve his dream of playing in the top flight after spending the past three seasons in the National Super League.
"I am hoping to recover within schedule and get back to the team. It is my wish to join the rest in representing the club in the highest league. Playing in the top flight has also been my dream too," he said in an interview with Mozzart Sport.
Having watched the team beat Shabana in the well-attended match, Obino said the win will fuel him to work harder once the medical department gives him a clean bill of health.
Despite being injured, Obino and other players who were not in the match day squad accompanied the team to Homabay for the game.
"It was a great feeling to see the team get a win over Shabana. They were our biggest rivals last season and beating the again was satisfying. I hope to recover soon and play a part," said the former Mombasa Elite player.
The 18-year old joined Seal last year from Elite and helped the team secure promotion last season after finishing second behind Shabana.
