The Red Devils have been on the hunt for reinforcements for some time now, and one of their latest targets comes from the ranks of the Spanish giant
After early summer interest from Chelsea, Arsenal, and even a club from Saudi Arabia, another Premier League side has now joined the chase for Barcelona’s attacking midfield gem, Fermin Lopez.
This time, it’s Manchester United stepping up, with Sport reporting that the Red Devils have shown “strong interest” and are prepared to put forward a significant offer—believed to be around 70 million.
The Catalan club may find that figure hard to resist, especially with financial pressure mounting. The funds could go a long way in helping register recent arrivals Marcus Rashford and Joan Garcia, while also easing Barca’s financial strain.

Surprisingly, the Spanish international—once considered untouchable—is no longer seen as a guaranteed part of Hansi Flick’s plans for next season. The 60-year-old manager isn’t expected to give him a consistent role in midfield, a position he didn’t hold down regularly even last season.
One tactical shift reportedly being considered involves Raphinha moving into a central role, allowing Rashford to operate from his preferred spot on the left wing.
United could provide a fresh start for the midfielder, though sources suggest he's not eager to leave the Camp Nou. Just last October, he signed a contract extension through 2029, reaffirming his commitment to his boyhood club.
Still, with Erik ten Hag replaced by Ruben Amorim and a squad overhaul underway following a disastrous 14th-place league finish, United are aggressively pursuing midfield reinforcements—and they view the Barca playmaker as a potential game-changer in their rebuild.
