The entertaining LaLiga 2 fixture was played at Estadio Ciudad Deportiva Zubieta on Saturday, 7 March.

The Kenya international, who recently signed a new contract with the club, delivered a nine-star display and was named Player of the Match after tormenting the visitors’ defence for 81 minutes before being replaced by Alex Marchal.

Ochieng wasted no time announcing his presence, striking just 62 seconds into the match after capitalising on a costly defensive lapse by Fabrizio Brignani.

The defender's loose ball gifted the forward the opener while goalkeeper Romain Matthys reacted too slowly to prevent the early goal.

Castellón responded quickly as Camara turned provider for Calatrava to level matters, but the hosts restored their advantage almost immediately when Dani Díaz set up Gorka Carrera to make it 2-0.

It was a frantic start that produced three goals inside the opening six minutes.

The tempo remained relentless as Castellón continued to press forward, with Aitor Fraga pulling off saves from Cala’s free kick and Alberto Jiménez.

Ochieng nearly extended the lead moments later when his header crashed against the woodwork.

The visitors eventually found another equaliser after Fraga’s weak clearance from a corner created confusion in the box, allowing Camara to pounce and make it 2-2 in a chaotic opening 23 minutes that saw both sides trade attacking blows.

Despite Castellón firing nearly 20 attempts at goal before the half-hour mark, Real Sociedad B remained dangerous on the break.

Ochieng continued to stretch the defence and struck the post once more before finally grabbing his second of the evening in the 68th minute.

Castellón attempted a late comeback, and Álvaro García thought he had rescued a point when he almost scored in the 90th minute, but Real Sociedad B had the final say in stoppage time when Arkaitz Mariezkurrena sealed the victory.

The closing stages of the match were overshadowed by controversy when referee Alonso de Ena Wolf activated the anti-racism protocol following an alleged racist remark directed at Japanese player Kazunari Kita.

Castellón coach Pablo Hernández declined to comment on the incident after the match.

Ochieng’s performance continues to show his growing influence in the team.

The former Ligi Ndogo forward registered five shots, two on target, and struck the woodwork twice while creating two key passes.

He completed four of his five dribble attempts, recorded 36 touches and completed eight of his 14 passes.

The Kenyan also contributed defensively with four recoveries, an interception, a clearance and a blocked shot while winning six of seven ground duels and four aerial contests.

The brace takes Ochieng’s tally to seven goals and two assists in 21 appearances for the Real Sociedad B junior side this season, where he has started 16 matches and accumulated 1,267 minutes.
