Shikangwa has now netted two hat-tricks in the season, having registered her first in November against Bilo Queens
Harambee Starlets striker Jentrix Shikangwa was on target three times, as her club Simba Queens thrashed Geita Queens 4–0 in a Tanzanian Women’s Premier League match played on Monday afternoon.
It was her second hat-trick of the season, having netted her first in November against Bilo Queens.
Shikangwa scored twice in the first half, before completing her hat-trick in the second period to help Simba Queens move to 31 points at the top of the league standings.
Zawadi Usanese scored the other goal in the emphatic victory.
In Romania, Richard Odada was substituted in the 88th minute as his club UTA Arad saw their seven-match unbeaten run come to an end after a 2–1 home defeat to FC Rapid București on Monday night.
UTA Arad started brightly and took the lead in the 19th minute through Marius Coman.
However, the visitors drew level just before the break when Alexandru Dobre converted from the penalty spot.
The second half was evenly contested, with both sides pushing for a winner.
It was Rapid who struck in the 79th minute through Leonardo Bolgado.
Any hopes of Arad salvaging a result were dashed in stoppage time when Dmytro Pospelov was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.
The result leaves UTA Arad eighth on the table with 35 points after 23 league matches. They next face FC ArgeÈ™ away on 31 January.
In Saudi Arabia, Erick Johanna was once again left out of the squad as his club Al Zulfi were held to a 2–2 draw by Al Jubail in a second-tier league fixture.
