Abuya starred for Singida last season.
Kenyan international Duke Abuya is on the verge of a move to Tanzanian champions Yanga, according to media reports in Tanzania.
Abuya is currently on the books of Tanzanian side Singida Black Stars and has been a key player for the club since joining from Kenya Police FC last year .
The Tanzanian champions have now turned their attention to Abuya who was one of the best midfielders in the Tanzanian league last year.
The big spenders are said to view the former Mathare United, Kariobangi Sharks, Nkana, and Kenya Police FC man as an ideal signing as they seek to defend their league title and advance further in the CAF Champions League next season, having reached the quarterfinals last year.
Abuya is regarded as one of the best Kenyan attacking midfielders. Last month, he scored Harambee Stars' goal against Burundi in a World Cup qualification game played in Malawi.
Yanga has already acquired Clatous Chama from Simba, considered the best coup in Tanzanian football, and has also raided Azam for Zimbabwean striker Prince Dube after a protracted tussle between Azam and the player.
Should he cross over, he'll become the latest Kenyan player to join Yanga after Farouk Shikalo, who moved to the club after the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
