The Ghanaian Ernest Nuamah made quite a fuss to prevent his transfer from Lyon to Fulham

Over the years we've heard numerous incredible transfer stories. Sometimes, the clubs couldn't agree, and sometimes, the players were unsatisfied with the contract terms or wanted to leave the club at all costs. The list goes on. But what do you do when a club wants to sell you and you don't want to go? According to Ernest Nuamah, you refuse, cry, and disappear!

Namely, the Ghanaian forward spent the previous season on loan at Olympique Lyon from the Belgian side RWD Molenbeek before the French brought him in permanently for 28.5 million euros in June. However, only two months later, Lyon were already willing to get rid of the 20-year-old. Among the three interested parties from the Premier League, Lyon majority owner John Textor opted for Fulham's bid, determined to sell the youngster.

As per L'Equipe, last Friday, the Cottagers' representatives arrived in France to carry out the medicals and eventually sign the player. However, the entire deal fell through because of Nuamah and some very unique ways he used to undermine his own transfer!

Namely, at first, he refused to undergo the medical tests and then started crying during the process. Still, he passed the tests, and everything was set for signing the contract. The representatives of both clubs were there, and the only missing was - the player?!

Yes, you've read it well. Nuamah disappeared, didn't answer his phone, and no one could find him. Once he successfully prevented his move to England, Nuamah spoke to Textor, stating that he wanted to buy a house in Lyon and play the Champions League with Les Gones. Moreover, he said that he could have chosen an English side if he had wanted to in the first place. Instead, he picked Lyon.

Textor then sent an apology letter to the player, claiming that he did not intend to force him out of the club. Ultimately, the relations between Nuamah and Lyon allegedly resolved. Although he was not in the squad against Strasbourg four days ago, the Ghanaian is expected to continue his spell in France.
