Simiyu, who was the hero in the cup final against Kenya Police on Sunday, 14 June, collected the biggest individual award, to go with a cash prize of Ksh200,000.
Having scored in Tusker’s 1-0 victory over Kariobangi Sharks in the tournament’s last 16 game, Simiyu was once again the star of the show at Kwale Stadium, knocking in a brace to deliver Tusker the Mozzart Bet Cup title.
He registered two assists in the tournament.
His exploits, which went along his key goal contributions all through the Mozzart Bet Cup season, not only saw him crowned the best player, but also the midfielder of the tournament..
He is set to get Ksh150, 000 for being the best midfielder.
The latter award was the second of an unforgettable haul for the former Nzoia Sugar man, who also claimed the finals man-of-the-match award, and a Ksh 100,000 Humanitarian Cheque.
Also on the winner list was Kenya Police defender Abud Omar, who was awarded as the Defender of the Tournament.
Omar, who helped his team reach their second cup final in three years, was rock solid in central defense, but also contributed upfront with three crucial goals, one of which came via a freekick against Tusker in the final.
KCB’s Elvis Ochoro was, on the other hand, awarded as the Golden Glove winner, thanks to his impressive showing in the tournament.
Ochoro, who played all the rounds, conceded just two goals through the tournament, keeping clean sheets.
In fact, the only two goals Ochoro conceded were in the third-place playoff, when their hopes of winning the title were already over.
The Golden Boot award meanwhile went to two players - Bandari’s Amza Moubarack and Kariobangi Sharks’ Humphrey Aroko, who all totalled six goals throughout the tournament.
Rising Mfalme FC midfielder John Majabe rounded off the individual accolades with the Young Player of the Tournament award, thanks to his eye-catching season that saw him play a part in his team’s fairytale run to the quarter finals.
As per the award policy, the top scorer, best goalkeeper, best defender as well as best midfielder, walked home with a cash prize of Ksh150,000, with the Young Player of the Tournament taking Ksh100,000.
