Just as we expected, Ange Postecoglou's team couldn't beat pale Roma a few days after that mesmerizing 4-0 battering of Manchester City
There's something utterly charming in that Tottenham Hotspur's inconsistency. They just never fail to surprise us either way.
After that memorable trashing of Manchester City away on weekend, they had a chance to make a statement against pale AS Roma in the UEFA Europa League.
However, just as we suggested in our match preview, they bottled it, conceding in the stoppage time for a 2-2 draw.

Veteran defender Mats Hummels, 35, snatched a late equaliser for Claudio Ranieri's side as he played his first European match since the Champions League final with Dortmund in July.
Interestingly, it was Hummels who gave away a penalty in the fifth minute before redeeming himself in stoppage time.
Son Heung-min converted that penalty, but Evan N'Dicka equalised soon on the other end.

Brennan Johnson, who is in perfect form, restored the lead for his side before the interval and the hosts had a handful of opportunities to extend it, but it stayed 2-1 until the added time.
Roma did score twice more prior to it, though, as both of those were ruled out for offside calls. Still, there was enough time for the experienced German defender to find the back of the net for Ange Postecoglou's frustration.
