The defender joined the second tier side in eight seasons ago

In the interest of securing a new challenge, long serving Vihiga United left back Dennis Ombeva has has issued come and get me plea to Football Kenya Federation Premier League clubs.

Ombeva is among the pioneers of the club as he joined back in 2014 and ever since, he has tasted both National Super League and top flight football with them.

Vihiga were axed to the second tier again last season after surrendering to Kenya Police FC in the relegation/ promotion playoff after finishing third from bottom in the top flight.

While a sizeable number of players ditched the club after their fate was sealed, Ombeva opted to remain with them and inspire them to their third promotion.

However, with the transfer window set to close next weekend, Ombeva has changed his mind after revealing his plan of joining a top flight club although he acknowledged that he had not received offers.

"It is my prayer to get a new home before the window closes. I am open to joining a top flight club should I get an offer. I have played across different leagues and there is nothing that beats the joy and satisfaction of plying trade in the senior one," he said.

Ombeva in the meantime disclosed that illness had kept him out of club duties for almost a month now. The player who cans also slot in right back said he had been nursing recurring pneumonia upsets but expressed optimism in full recovery soon.

"I have missed the last four league matches due to illness but I am hoping to be cleared by the doctor soon," he said.

At the same time, the defender expressed optimism in having the Mike Mururi coached side promoted at the end of the season despite the poor show in the second tier.
