Borussia Dortmund has lost an exceptional player in Jude Bellingham when the talented midfielder moved to Real Madrid. However, his departure dramatically benefits the team atmosphere.
According to Bild, some things really bothered a part of the BVB squad.
For a long time, some players noticed that after matches, Bellingham often waited until the team had thanked the supporters before making his way to the stands – to receive applause on his own. The whispered opinion in the locker room is that the Englishman seemed to want to put himself in the spotlight, with teammates being irrelevant to him.
When speaking to the team, Bellingham's words often didn't sit well with some colleagues. In February 2022, during a Champions League match, he heavily insulted Nico Schulz on the pitch. After a sloppy pass, he lost his temper. Lip readers were sure that he shouted abuse at his teammate.
"You can't play a damn pass, you're fuc*ing sh*t! Every damn time!"
This type of communication is said to have continued throughout the past season. Especially during training sessions and halftime breaks, Bellingham is said to have been verbally abusive towards teammates.

The boy who previously played for Birmingham City spent a duration of three years at Dortmund. It's been suggested that during the 2021/22 season, those around him perceived that he considered himself to be overshadowed by then-teammate Erling Haaland, who was probably the only bigger star at Westfalenstadion at that time.
Bellingham was the third captain last season and part of the team leaders' group. However, according to locker room sources, he rarely lived up to this role. He was infrequently approachable to other players, took on little leadership, and was said to have been highly moody internally.
