Zoo's tally of seven goals after thirteen games played is the second lowest in the entire league

Zoo FC head coach Herman Iswekha has bemoaned the lack of a scoring touch from his Zoo side. The Kericho-based club find themselves rooted to the bottom of the log on seven points having just scored seven goals in thirteen games. That tally of seven is the second-lowest number of goals that have been scored in the league this season.

Out of the seven goals Zoo have scored, only two have been scored by forward Collins Neto. Midfielders Sammy Ggolola, Bernard Odhiambo and Mathew Tayo have chipped in with a goal apiece while the remaining two goals have been scored by defender Alex Onchwari.

Despite winning their first match of the season against Vihiga United after a run of eleven winless games, Zoo got back to their normal goalless ways, drawing 0-0 to Western Stima at home in a game that Iswekha states they might have lost if they were not careful.

“I think we were overexcited in our last game against Stima. We had a lot of chances to score but we wasted them because of the same finishing problem that we have in the team. That is still our main problem. We missed very clear-cut chances. So this week from Monday, I’ve only dealt with finishing drills to help the forwards,” he disclosed to Mozzart Sport.

The coach expressed optimism regarding his defense that has managed to keep back to back clean sheets for the first time this season

“I was still looking for my first eleven. I am already settled with the defense in the eleven. We have managed to keep two clean sheets consecutively and I am happy with that,” he added.

Iswekha and his Zoo side next travel to Nairobi to take on second-placed KCB in Sunday action the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.
