Kenya finished second in the inaugural tournament in 2019
Kenya’s journey in the 2023 Junior World Kabaddi Championships came to an end as the tournament’s last edition runners-up lost 56-24 to Pakistan in Urmia, Iran.
Kenya were hoping to stage another upset in the Junior Championships after coming close to winning gold in the previous edition in 2019.
In a surprise result then, Kenya beat Pakistan to get into the finals but the second edition was not to be as the latter breezed to a spot in Friday’s slate of semi final fixtures.
Kenya’s record at the tournament was one win and two losses - with the only win coming in a big 75-14 win over Group B opponents Palestine.
Kenya had initially lost 56-39 to Iraq in their opening group game on Tuesday.
