The five-time African champions, hours removed from their semifinal defeat to fellow Kenyan opponents KCB, overcame Tunisia's Carthage VC 3-1 (25-17, 17-26, 26-24, 25-21), to exit the championships with a place on the podium.
“We have managed to secure the third position, although it was not our main target when we came here,” Pipeline coach Geoffrey Omondi said post-match.
“We take the bronze, but we are happy to retain the same position we secured in Abuja last year.”

Pipeline, who last won the showpiece 21 years ago in 2005, started on the brighter side on Thursday, taking a commanding lead in the first set, before Carthage, who lost to Pipeline in a similar match-up last year, responded to even out the contest.
Omondi’s charges were, however, not to be stopped, as they edged out a nervy third set, before wrapping up the victory in the fourth.
The win secured Pipeline a third consecutive third-place finish in the competition, and eighth overall in the history of the competition.
The long drought for the main title was, however, in Omondi’s mind after the game.
“We are still working and preparing a team that will bring gold in the near future - it's work in progress,” Omondi said, emphasising that the team was now shifting its attention to dominating the local scene.
“Now our focus is to go back and concentrate on our league matches; we have many of them unplayed. There is also the Kenya Cup, so our concentration changes to those.”
In Thursday’s final, KCB take on fierce rivals and 10-time champions Al Ahly, with a chance to lift their first Women's African Volleyball Club Championship title since 2022.
