Leading boxing presenter to grace Kenyan scene in promoter landmark deal

The first instalment for Kalakoda this year comes on Friday, 27 February at Masshouse, Nairobi

Renowned international broadcaster, and presenter Ade Oladipo is set to be one of the faces of new Kenyan professional boxing partners Kalakoda Promotions, who have announced a landmark multi-year expansion deal, valued at Ksh1 billion.

The Youtuber and DAZN lead presenter confirmed his alignment with the premier Pan-African boxing promotion, which will broadcast upto 11 Friday Fight Nights acorss regional and international platforms throughout 2026.

Alongside the Friday Fight Night format, Kalakoda, who also plan to run 12 monthly events from 2027, will roll out Young Lions, a weekly grass-roots fight night showcasing the best of Kenya’s emerging talent, bringing over 60 confirmed shows across the country this year.

Commenting on his official entry into the Kenyan market, Oladipo, ho was present in Kalakoda's event last year, said: "I’ve worked on some of the biggest nights in boxing, in front of crowds of up to 90,000 people, and I can honestly say the atmosphere in Nairobi during Kalakoda’s last event was extraordinary. This really showcased the vibrant spirit and passion for boxing in Africa.

“The potential and talent in Africa are immense, and when given the right opportunities and support, African fighters can excel on the international stage, and redefine the landscape of professional boxing worldwide."

The Friday Night format is set to unite fighters from the UK, across Africa, and Kenya’s finest talents, combining boxing legends with upcoming talent and high-quality production, aiming to elevate boxing in East Africa.

Reuben Ndolo, President of the Kenya Professional Boxing Commission, welcomed the long-term investment by Kakaloda saying: “We are pleased to see promoters and broadcasters making long-term investments in the Kenyan market, as we continue to professionalize and internationalize Kenyan boxing.

Their presence will enhance opportunities for our athletes and elevate the sport in our country.”

Among those to have tasted an event under the promoters is former WBC world champion Fatuma Zarika, who secured victory at its Friday Fight Night debut dubbed "Nightmare in Nairobi" in November.

“The production level was on par with major U.S. shows," Zarika said. "Fighting at home has a unique energy and passion that’s hard to match. The crowd was incredible, and fighting in front of my people gave me extra motivation and pride.”

The first instalment for Kalakoda this year comes on Friday, 27 February at Masshouse, Nairobi, with the card set to involve leading cruiserweight Joshua Wasike and super-welterweight George Onyango.
