Reacting to the result, Blazers head coach Josephine Ataro said the loss was a wake up call as last weekend, they dropped two points after playing USIU-A Spartans to a 1-1 draw.
"The team has to wake up, that's an hard fact. We lost to a stronger side and much as I can't recall the last time we lost, we have to break sweat in training. Our midfield was exposed today and our coordination wasn't good," she remarked.
Her Scorpions counterpart Meshack Senge could not contain his joy after masterminding Blazers fall that saw them maintain a one hundred percent record in the season.
"I am happy we showed what we can do although, we are not a finished product. It is work in progress. It was satisfying to see the girls execute what we have been working in training on the pitch and against the calibre of the opponent we were up against," said the former national men's team head coach.
Scorpions took the lead barely two minutes into the game through Maurine Ongoche who finished off Okumu's sublime pass. The latter killed off Blazers' hopes of a comeback when she netted a field goal in the 26th minute.
