The decider clash is scheduled for 2 PM at Kasarani Indoor Arena
Battle looms as Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) women's league champion is set to be crowned today.
The Sunday, 9 June, 2 PM decider fixture featuring holders Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) and Prisons Kenya promises to be a thrilling tie-breaker.
Joseph Barasa's Prisons won the opening match in the best-of-three final by straight sets, only for the bankers to turn the result around on Saturday in Game Two, clinching the match in similar fashion to set up the golden match.
"We played more composed despite being under the pressure of a must-win approach. It was a difficult position to be in but having conquered in that match gives us confidence that we will finish the job on Sunday," KCB's middle blocker Edith Wisah said.
On his part, head coach Japheth Munala praised his setter Esther Mutinda and attacker Juliana Namutira for superb connections on the court for some lethal attacks that kept Prisons at bay.
The tactician believes his charges are now motivated to play well on Sunday and defend their title.
Meanwhile, coach Barasa who is hoping to guide the warderesses to the trophy they last won in 2021 was hopeful his charges would rise to the occasion.
"Our game two approach was wanting. We started off slow, allowing them to lead 7-1 in the opening set and that clearly gave them the momentum for the rest of the match. Players that we had relied on in the first match win did not click, but we are hoping to find that rhythm on Sunday to fight for the title," Barasa offered.
Elsewhere, Kenya Pipeline, on Saturday secured a bronze medal after defeating the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) in a straight-sets victory 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-22) in the third-place playoff.
