In a statement, Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) described Oloo as a respected coach and former player whose influence on the game, particularly at the grassroots and in women’s rugby, was profound.

Fondly referred to as Ade or Mwalimu, he earned admiration for his leadership, discipline, and commitment to developing the sport.

Oloo enjoyed a distinguished playing career with Nakuru RFC, spanning 15 years from 2003 to 2017.

During that period, he was part of a golden era for the club, helping them secure back-to-back Kenya Cup titles in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons.

He also lifted the Enterprise Cup and featured in other domestic successes, including the Bamburi Super Series.

Upon hanging up his boots, Oloo seamlessly transitioned into coaching, taking up roles within Nakuru RFC, where he handled both men’s and women’s teams.

His focus on rebuilding structures and nurturing young talent quickly set him apart as a forward-thinking coach.

His impact extended to the national stage, where he served as head coach of the Kenya Lionesses in both the 7s and 15s formats.

Under his stewardship, the Lionesses qualified for the Tokyo Olympics and competed in major tournaments such as the Africa Women’s competitions, the Dubai 7s Invitational, and the Elgon Cup.

Despite limited resources, Oloo is widely credited for building competitive systems and inspiring a generation of players, particularly in women’s rugby.

Nakuru RFC, in their tribute, described him as a dedicated servant of the game whose contribution to the club and the wider rugby community was immense.

“Felix was a coach, mentor, and leader whose passion for the sport and commitment to developing players inspired many both on and off the pitch.

As a club and family, we stand together in mourning and in support of his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time," the club said in a statement.
