In a statement, the nation's rugby union says teams will not travel as planned due to logistical challenges
Kenya 7s national teams; Shujaa and Lionesses will miss the Dubai 7s International Invitational tournament scheduled to take place from December 1-3 in Dubai, UAE.
The recent development is a major blow to players who have been hard at work putting the final touches on their preparations ahead of the showdown on Saturday.
In a statement seen by Mozzart Sport, the teams will not travel as planned due to logistical challenges.

"We regret to inform you that the Kenya Sevens men and women national squads will not be able to honor their fixtures at the 2023 Dubai 7s. The teams were slated to play in the International Invitational Category in Dubai. Unfortunately, logistical challenges have negatively impacted their travel itinerary, rendering the trip to Dubai impossible at this point in time," read the statement from Kenya Rugby Union chairman Sasha Mutai.
Shujaa was assigned to Pool C in the Men’s International Invitation Category, competing alongside Speranza 22, R10C Selects, and Wailers.
Their pool stage was set to begin at 2:40 pm EAT on Friday, December 1, against R1OC Selects.
Following that, they would proceed with a match against Wailers at 2:20 pm on Saturday, December 2, concluding their pool stage with a clash against Speranza 22 at 5:00 pm on the same day.
Meanwhile, the Lionesses found themselves in Pool B, facing off against Ireland Invitational, USA Falcons, Rhino Stompers, and French Militaire Sevens.
Their campaign was set to initiate at 5:40 pm on Friday, December 1, against Ireland Invitational. Subsequently, they would take on the Rhino Stompers at 7:20 pm on the same day, followed by a match against French Militaire Sevens at 3:20 pm on Saturday.
They would wrap up their pool stage with a game against the USA Falcons at 7:00 pm on the same day.
