The decision to allow the 10-10 result to stand saw Kabras maintain their position at the top of the Kenya Cup standings with 47 points
KCB Rugby have lodged an appeal against the Kenya Rugby Union's (KRU) decision to uphold the 10-10 draw in their abandoned Kenya Cup clash against Kabras Sugar RFC played on Saturday, 7 March.
The Bankers argue that the wrong competition regulations were applied when the KRU Leagues and Fixtures Committee ruled, that the result should stand as recorded at the time the match was called off.

The encounter staged at the KCB Sports Club in Ruaraka was abandoned at halftime after heavy rain left the pitch unsafe for play.
However, KCB maintain that the ruling was based on regulations that do not correspond with the circumstances under which the match was halted.
According to KCB, the referee’s report clearly states that the match was stopped due to weather conditions, yet the verdict was allegedly made under regulations that cover non-weather-related abandonment.
“They should have used the regulation which talks to other reasons plus weather whereby it says if abandoned in the first half it should be played fully. If abandoned during the second half, it should be reconvened and finished,” the Bankers argued.
Based on this interpretation, the Bankers believe the match should either be replayed or resumed rather than being declared a draw.
KCB have also raised concerns over the composition of the KRU Fixtures and Leagues Committee, suggesting there may be potential bias.
The club claims that some members of the committee have close connections with Kabras, which they believe could have influenced the decision.
KRU Director of Fixtures and Competitions Leslie Mwangale confirmed that the union has received KCB’s appeal and that the matter will be handled by the relevant body.
“Yes they appealed. The appeals panel will determine,” Mwangale told Mozzart Sport.
The decision to allow the 10-10 result to stand saw Kabras maintain their position at the top of the Kenya Cup standings with 47 points, while KCB remain second with 45 points.
