AK senior vice president Paul Mutwii will serve as the technical official

Athletics Kenya (AK) has announced a team of 30 athletes and officials who will represent the country in the upcoming Africa Cross Country Championships slated for February 25 in Hammamet, Tunisia.

The senior men's category is littered with talent including 2024 Nandi Barngetuny Memorial Mountain Run Fredrick Domongole who trains in Kapenguria, West Pokot.

Domongole will be looking to extend his fine run to claim a podium finish at the continental event.

He is joined by 2019 African Games 5,000m champion Robert Kiprop who will be out to better his third-place finish in the National Police Service Championships where he ran in 30:43:06. Kiprop who is gearing up for a busy year will also be keen to register a personal best as he seeks to represent the country in the upcoming All-African games.

Also in the star-studded list is Naibei Kiplimo who missed the podium by a whisker during the Sirikwa Classic World Cross Country Tour gold. He settled for fourth position in 29:27 and will be keen to impress.

Africa Under 20 5000m bronze medalist Vincent Kimaiyo, Vincent Langat, and Brian Kiptoo are also in the traveling party.

The senior women's category will also see some of the best athletes lock horns.

Conditioned Caren Chebet, Gladys Kwamboka, Virginia Nyambura, Grace Loibach, Cintia Chepng'eno, and Sandrafellis Chebet will all be seeking to win medals for the country.

AK senior vice president Paul Mutwii will serve as the technical official.

The team will head to residential training camp on Sunday 11 February at Watakatifu Wote in Ngong.
