Three-time 1500m Olympic gold medalist Faith Kipyegon continues to endear herself to Kenyans, not just for her stellar track performances but also for her grounded and relatable lifestyle.
The 30-year-old athlete, fresh off a year of breaking world and Olympic records, recently showed a different side of herself on social media.
In a TikTok video shared on her page, Kipyegon was seen in a kitchen, vigorously cooking ugali for her family.
True to many rural settings, the kitchen featured a traditional three-stone hearth fueled by firewood, with smoke swirling around as she worked.
Undeterred by the challenges of the setup, the world champion went about the task with ease, showcasing her humility and connection to her roots.
This wholesome moment came after Kipyegon and her family were treated to a vacation, capping off what has been a sensational year for the Kenyan middle-distance queen.

Kipyegon's 2024 season
She started her season with an injury setback that saw her miss the Diamond League Meeting in Xiamen and the Prefontaine Classic.
After shaking off the injury, Kipyegon graced the Paris Olympics qualifiers in June, where she qualified for both the 1500m and 5000m categories.
Kipyegon warmed up for the Olympics with the Paris Diamond League where she set a new record by clocking a time of 3:49:04, eclipsing her previous record by 0.07 seconds.
At the Olympics, she won a historic third 1,500m title and took home silver in the 5,000m event.
Following that, she graced the Rome Diamond League, where she brushed aside Australia’s Jessica Hull to sprint home for a 3:52.89 finish.
Her fine form continued during the Brussels Diamond League where she won her fifth trophy after clocking 3:54:75 to set a new meeting record.
The middle-distance star went ahead to take the crown at the Athlos New York City women-only race, crossing the finish line in an impressive 4:04.79.
In addition to the title, Kipyegon walked away with a prize of Ksh7.7 million, rounding off an extraordinary season that saw her cement her dominance on the global athletics stage.
