Record FKF Premier League champions Gor Mahia have secured the future of Ghanaian striker Ebenezer Assifuah by handing him a new two-year contract after an impressive six-month spell at the club.

The extension keeps the 31-year-old at K'Ogalo until 2028 after his initial six-month deal, signed when he joined during the January 2026 midseason transfer window, expired.
Confirming the news, Gor said the striker had earned a longer stay following his impact in the second half of the campaign.
"Ebenezer Assifuah has committed his future to stay with us on a two-year deal. The deal comes after the expiration of the initial six-month contract he signed when he arrived during the midseason transfer window in January 2026," the club said in a statement.
"His performances in the second half of the campaign were nothing short of sensational as he helped us win our 22nd FKF Premier League title with a string of crucial goals."
Assifuah arrived from Malaysian side Kedah Darul Aman and quickly established himself as one of Mahia's most dependable attacking players.
Despite joining midway through the season, he finished the 2025/26 FKF Premier League campaign with seven goals and ended the season as the club's joint top scorer despite playing significantly fewer matches than most of his teammates.
The Ghanaian repeatedly delivered in decisive moments, rescuing points with dramatic late equalizers against Kenya Police and Posta Rangers before coming off the bench to score the winner against Murang'a Seal during the closing stages of the title race.
His ability to produce in high-pressure situations played a key role as Gor Mahia clinched a record-extending 22nd league title.
Assifuah brings a wealth of experience to the club, having previously featured in Europe with French sides Pau FC and Le Havre, as well as Swiss outfit FC Sion, before moving to Malaysia.
In another show of the club's confidence in the striker, Assifuah has also been included in Gor Mahia's leadership group for the upcoming season.
