The men's 100m will also feature an intriguing rivalry between Lyles and Botswana's Letsile Tebogo, the Olympic 200m champion
Africa's fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala, will return to the Diamond League circuit on Thursday, 4 June, lining up against Olympic champion Noah Lyles and a host of sprinting heavyweights at the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea in Rome.
The Commonwealth Games defending champion heads into the fourth leg of the Wanda Diamond League season in impressive form, carrying the second-fastest time in the men's 100m field.

Omanyala clocked a season's best of 9.94 seconds during his victorious run at the Xiamen Diamond League in China two weeks ago, a performance that earned him only his second Diamond League win after his breakthrough triumph in Monaco in 2023.
The Kenyan sprint star has rediscovered his rhythm this season, dipping below the 10-second barrier five times in the last two months.
He will be keen to maintain that momentum in Rome as he seeks a third Diamond League victory.
However, the challenge awaiting him is among the toughest he has faced this year.
Leading the field is American youngster Anthony Jordan, the reigning World Indoor 60m champion, who boasts the fastest time among the entrants this season after running 9.91 seconds at the Tom Jones Memorial in Florida in April.
Olympic 100m champion, Lyles will also be in the blocks.
The American arrives in Rome after opening his outdoor campaign with a victory at the Tokyo Grand Prix, where he clocked 9.95 seconds.
Lyles will be eager to continue building towards another successful championship season.
Home favourite Marcell Jacobs adds another intriguing dimension to the race.
The Tokyo Olympic champion will be making his season debut in front of an Italian crowd expected to rally behind him as he launches his 2026 campaign.
South Africa's Akani Simbine and Jamaica's Ackeem Blake further strengthen a field packed with world-class talent, setting up what promises to be one of the most competitive 100m races of the Diamond League season.
For Omanyala, Rome presents an opportunity to prove that his resurgence is no fluke.
Although he won the men's 100m at the Triveneto International Meeting in Italy last weekend, his time of 10.23 seconds was well below the standards he has set this season.
A strong performance against such elite opposition would further cement his status among the world's leading sprinters and strengthen his confidence heading into the second half of the campaign.
The men's 100m will also feature an intriguing rivalry between Lyles and Botswana's Letsile Tebogo, the Olympic 200m champion.
Tebogo has been steadily finding his footing after a slow start to his Diamond League season, finishing second in the 200m at the Rabat Diamond League on Sunday in 19.96 seconds.
With Olympic champions, world champions, and Diamond League winners all sharing the same start line, the race is expected to provide a spectacular finale to an evening of top-class athletics in the Italian capital.
Beyond the sprint showdown, Rome's Diamond League meeting will feature several marquee contests across the track and field programme.
American sprint star Melissa Jefferson-Wooden begins her Diamond League season in the women's 200m against Olympic 100m champion Julien Alfred, while Olympic 800m champion Keely Hodgkinson opens her outdoor season in the women's 400m.
In the field events, two-time world shot put champion Joe Kovacs will renew his rivalry with Olympic champion Ryan Crouser, while Kenya's Julius Yego will be among the contenders in a high-quality men's javelin competition.
