
Jackline Chepkoech and Faith Cherotich shortlisted for Rising Star award

The nominees for the Men's Rising Star award will be revealed later today
Kenya's duo of Jackline Chepkoech and Faith Cherotich have been nominated by World Athletics for the 2022 Women's Rising Star award.
The award is to recognize this year's best U20 athlete in the World Athletics 2022 calendar year.
Faith Cherotich, the Kenyan World U20 300m steeplechase Championships Trial champion, stunned the nation early August with an impressive gun to tape victory in the World U20 Championships 3000m steeplechase finals in Cali, Colombia clocking 9:16:14.

The 18 year old capped of her breakout year with a third place finish in the Zurich Diamond League, placing a personal best time of 9:06:14.
Her compatriot and the Commonwealth 3000m steeplechase champion, Jackline Chepkoech came out victorious in the final Diamond League meet in Brussels, winning with a time of 9:02:43.
The other nominees include South Africa's Mike De Klerk ( World U20 shot put champion), Jamaica's Kerrica Hill (World U20 4×100m and 100m hurdles champion) and Serbia's Adrianna Vilagos (World U20 Javelin champion).
The nominations reflect the standout performances in the World U20 championships and the World Athletics Championships in Oregon this year.
The winner of the award will be announced by an international panel of experts and announced on the World Athletics social media platforms in early December.
The nominees for the Men's Rising Star award will be revealed today (Wednesday 2 November).
