Injured Jacobs withdraws from Rome Diamond League
Italy's Olympic 100 metres champion Lamont Marcell Jacobs has withdrawn from the Rome Diamond League meeting on June 9 with an ongoing injury, it was announced Wednesday.
"Jacobs underwent a medical examination in Rome... that highlighted that the athlete hasn’t completely recovered," the Italian track and field federation said.

Jacobs pulled out of the Eugene Diamond League meet last weekend and will now focus on getting himself fit for the world championships, also in the Oregon city between July 15-24, and the European championships in Munich between August 15-21.
Jacobs strained an unspecified muscle when he won in Savona, Italy, last month, his first 100m since winning in Tokyo. He had a small problem with his glute muscles after the Savona race and said he had "felt held back somehow".
After missing the Prefontaine Classic, Olympic Champion Lamont Marcell Jacobs 🇮🇹 has announced that he is still injured and will miss his next two races in Rome and Oslo.
