Wanyonyi to face his fierce African rival twice in three days this week

The two, who dominated the two-lap distance last year - and also made the podium - will in Oslo be making their first head-to-head appearance since the Diamond League final event last year in Brussels
Paris 2024 Olympic medalists Emmanuel Wanyonyi and Djamel Sedjati will meet in two consecutive Diamond League events after the pair was confirmed to be taking part in the men's 800m race in Stockholm on Sunday, 15 June.
Olympic gold medalist Wanyonyi and his Algerian counterpart were last month announced to be dueling up in a star-studded field at the Oslo Bilsett Games, which will happen just three days ahead of the Stockholm meet on Thursday, 12 June.

The two, who dominated the two-lap distance last year - and also made the podium - will in Oslo be making their first head-to-head appearance since the Diamond League final event last year in Brussels.
Then, 20-year-old Wanyonyi outshone the Paris Olympics bronze medalist, which helped him claim his second successive Diamond League title.
And just like in Oslo, the two African aces will be joined in Stockholm by French star Gabriel Tual, who finished sixth in the Paris Olympics final.
The 27-year-old also finished third behind Sedjati and Wanyonyi at the Paris Diamond League last year, in one of the fastest 800m races in history.
Wanyonyi has only run one Diamond League race this season, finishing third in Rabat on 25 May.
The Kenyan had however, competed in the 800 and 1500m races in the Grand Slam Track leg in Kingston, before claiming the mile at the adizero: Road to Records, Herzogenaurach race in April.
