Only ten fans made the epic journey from Almaty - and the Danish champions welcomed them like heroes

Kairat Almaty may have fallen 3-2 to FC Copenhagen in their Champions League clash, but the real story of the night unfolded far from the scoreline. It began with a 5,000-kilometre pilgrimage - and ended with one of the most touching gestures the competition has seen in years.

Despite the enormous distance, ten loyal Kairat supporters made the journey from Almaty to Denmark, refusing to let geography silence their devotion. And Copenhagen, aware of the extraordinary feat, prepared a tribute worthy of their dedication.

Before kickoff, the Danish club invited the Kazakh fans onto the pitch, where they were greeted with applause from the home crowd. Special gifts were handed out, photos were taken, and Copenhagen publicly saluted the group - who now officially represent the easternmost city ever to appear in the Champions League.
