Vincent Kompany has verbally agreed with the Bavarians

Until recently, coaches haven't thought twice about accepting a job when offered by Bayern; the response would be immediate and firm. That is no longer the case, in recent month, no one dares to respond positively. The Bavarians have found themselves in a serious time crunch. They've reached a "take whatever you can get" situation. When everyone turns you down and panic starts to set in, judgment can become clouded. Standards fall. They have dropped so low that a coach who was relegated from the Premier League is considered acceptable?! Allegedly, the saga is nearing its end, and in the near future, Vincent Kompany is expected to take charge at the Allianz Arena.

The agony of the Munich club continues, but it seems there is a glimmer of an end in sight. Bayern has been searching for a coach for months, indicating that both top coaching names, and those yet to prove themselves – now see it as an undesirable place.  It quickly became clear that Xabi Alonso was not an option. Julian Nagelsmann wouldn't return to such a chaotic environment. Options like Ralf Rangnick, Oliver Glasner, and Roberto De Zerbi have also been ruled out, with sporting director Max Eberl indirectly denying De Zerbi's arrival. Meanwhile, Uli Hoeneß vetoed Thomas Tuchel's stay, forcing Bayern to pay 10 million euros for an early termination.

After numerous rejections, the heads of Bayern's sports sector started to ache, leading to discussions about names that weren't initially high on the list. It seems the choice has fallen on Vincent Kompany. As per Bild’s Christian Falk, the verbal agreement is in place, but Kompany will not arrive in Munich just yet as he waits for the clubs to reach an agreement on the compensation package. Once this is settled, there will be no more obstacles. In the coming days, the responsible parties will discuss this matter, and after a nightmarish season and relegation to the Championship, from which he previously led Burnley back to the Premier League with 101 points, Kompany could take the helm at Bayern. Vincent Kompany took over Burnley two years ago and has a contract until June 2028. He started his coaching career at Anderlecht, where he was both a player and the head coach. His biggest success is promotion to the Premier League, and although his resume isn't particularly impressive, all Bayern's sports sector can do now is hope for a miracle.
