The Kenyan international continues to be in Gent's pre-season camp despite solid interest from Ligue 1 side Reims
Harambee Stars defender Joseph Okumu featured for KAA Gent in the team's 2-0 win over Dutch top-tier side FC Utrecht in a friendly match on Wednesday evening.
Danish attacker Andrew Hjulsager gave Gent the lead heading into the breather with Malick Fofana doubling the lead just before the hours mark.
The win will give the club's managers a reason to smile after last Saturday's 1-2 loss to NK Lokomotiva Zagreb.

Okumu's future at Gent continues to be in doubt though as all indications are that he is headed to the French Ligue 1 to play for Reims. The club earlier today announced the signing of Moroccan international Ismael Kandouss from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.
The highly-rated centre-back is believed to be Okumu's replacement as the Kenyan's move to France will be confirmed in the coming days.
