Ingwe will be heading to the polls on Sunday, 29 June at the Stadion Hotel Ballroom to elect a new club executive following the expiry of the current office's term.

The election, which will be preceded by a Special General Meeting (SGM), will be conducted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Those seeking to vie for the position of Chairperson will now be required to pay a non-refundable nomination fee of Ksh150,000 instead of the initial Ksh450,000.

The Secretary General and Treasurer candidates will now part with Ksh125,000 as opposed to the initial amount of Ksh350,000.

The new fees come as a result of a directive by the Sports Dispute Tribunal (SDT) issued on Monday, 23 June, where the tribunal, among other things, ordered the reduction of the fees following a successful petition lodged.

In order to give candidates time to conform to the new fees, the tribunal also ordered that the nomination process, which was initially closed to be reopened.

The AFC Leopards Election Management Group (EMG) has now set Wednesday, 25 June at 1430 hrs as the deadline for the submission of all nomination requirements.

So far, the Chairman position has attracted two candidates after several others pulled out along the way. Former Harambee Stars striker Bonface Ambani is set to face off with Enos Mutokah for the top seat.

The Secretary General's post will see Robert Khamala Situma, Irene Sitawa Wekesa and Isaac Mulanda Mulindi face each other in the polls.

The Treasurer position has also attracted three candidates, Patrick Kanyangi Logedi, Edward Chamata Buhasho and Newton Lime Luchacha.

As per their last update, IEBC confirmed that a total of 2,707 members have been cleared to take part in the polls to elect the new office bearers.

With all the current executive office not vying in the upcoming polls, Ingwe will have a new set of management to steer the club for the next four years.
