FKF Premier League side AFC Leopards has provided a detailed breakdown of the gate collections and the expenses from last weekend's Mashemeji Derby.

After much speculation and pressure, especially on social media for the club to release the figures from the clash against Gor Mahia held on Sunday 30 March, the club has finally shared the details.

In a statement released by the club through its social media pages on Thursday 3 April 2025, Leopards announced that they collected a total of Ksh 7,395,600 from tickets sold in the highly anticipated fixture.

The club also announced that of the total amount collected, Ksh 2,811,840 was spent on match expenses, leaving the club with a net total of Ksh 4,583,760 as the profit realized from the match.

A total of 54 VVIP tickets were sold for Ksh 270,000, 1578 VIP tickets for Ksh 1,578,000, 252 parking slots for Ksh 75,600, with terraces generating the biggest revenue after 18,240 tickets were sold for Ksh 5,472,000.

Of the expenses, Sports Kenya took the biggest chunk, with Leopards paying Ksh 1,098,000 as 15% of the gate collections, as well as Ksh 116,000 as stadium hire, making the stadium governing body take home Ksh 1,214,000 from the match.

The other huge expense was the hiring of security, bouncers and stewards both from AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia, for a total of Ksh 495,000, with Ingwe also paying the ticketing company that managed the game Ksh 369,780 representing 5% of the gate collections.

Accommodation for the team cost Ksh 196,000, while hiring of barriers cost Ksh 169,360, with VVIP meals costing the club 1,000,000.

Some of the other expenses included Ksh 65,000 for entertainment and announcer, Ksh 15,000 for bus fuel, and Ksh 8,000 to fuel a Toyota fielder that is used by the coach.

The breakdown has already caused mixed reactions online from the fans who seem unsatisfied with the costs of some of the expenses the club incurred.

Further, the club also announced that they collected a total of 1,454,300 from their clash against Shabana, and incurred a total of Ksh 676,625 in expenses, therefore banking a total of Ksh 777,765.
