Odoyo has been a consistent starter for Tusker this season, while Lokale has scored twice in four matches this term

Engin Firat’s Harambee Stars squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying ties against Cameroon this month will see the entry of Sydney Lokale, Chripine Erambo, and David Odoyo.

This comes after the trio were congratulated by their respective clubs for getting the call-ups to the provisional national team squad.

It is expected that the full list of players will be released by Harambee Stars on Wednesday afternoon (1400 EAT).

Odoyo’s callup will mark his first ever to the senior national team, capping what has been an impressive career for him in the FKF Premier League.

Odoyo, a former Division One player with Green Commandos, set foot in the Premier League in September 2022 when he was signed by Tusker.

Also joining him is his clubmate Erambo who has been a regular call-up in recent squads under Engin Firat who seems to have unwavering faith in him.

The defensive midfielder made his debut in December of that year and has not looked back since.

He enjoyed his best goal-scoring campaign in the Premier League last season with five goals and has started in all of Tusker’s games this term.

In front of him now lies a chance to shine on the global stage.

Joining him in that quest is Lokale, who makes a return to the senior team for the first time since 2021.

The AFC Leopards striker has had a brilliant start to the season, scoring twice in four matches.

His first strike came against Mathare United on the opening day, before scoring late to give Ingwe a vital win against Bidco United.

Lokale’s other call-up to the national team was in 2019 when former coach Sebastian Migne named him in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) squad.

A chance at redemption and capitalizing on a hot start awaits the former Kariobangi Sharks man.
