Argentine had no interest in much better conditions presented by the Turin club
Sergio Aguero's signing in Barcelona might again raise a discussion due to the way the club gave up Luis Suarez last summer, even though two different leading sets of people participated in two deals.
While the new president Joan Laporta sees Aguero as the capital signing for the next season, many are interested in that financial part of the agreement, considering that Barcelona is struggling money-wise in recent months.
Aguero will be well paid at the new address, according to the current financial power of Barca, his age and health status - 7.3 million USD (786 million KSH) gross annually. However, that is almost 21 million USD less than what he had in Manchester City in recent years!
But it is far from Aguero being deprived of good earnings at Camp Nou. Catalan Mundo Deportivo revealed that Aguero, with the mentioned annual salary, will also receive a series bonuses based on individual and team successes, the number of goals scored and trophies won.
That should be more of a motive for Kun Aguero to try to revive his form from the best days, which should stimulate Barcelona as a team next season as well.
During the initial negotiations, the management of Barcelona told Aguero how difficult the financial situation is, that Kun will have to accept a serious reduction in income if he wants to play with the godfather of his child - Lionel Messi.
And that desire, to play with Messi, was crucial. In a conversation with vice president Rafael Yuste and sports director Mateu Alemany, Aguero made this clear, after which he contacted Laporta directly to accept the offer and express his commitment exclusively to finalise the negotiations with Barcelona.
Almost at the same time, Aguero had a much better financial offer on the table, starting from the basic salary, through bonuses, to the signing commission - from Juventus. On top of all that, Italian tax laws are quite loose for foreigners, which is often the reason why they choose a transfer to the Apennine Peninsula.
But not Aguero - his dream to wear the Barcelona jersey and play with Messi was, as the Catalan daily outlet claims, more important to him than anything else.
