Akhulia challenges Neto to help solve scoring problem at Bidco

Bidco United head coach Anthony Akhulia has challenged his forward Collins Neto to step up and help in shouldering the scoring responsibilities in the remainder of the season.

The striker made his second appearance since returning from a lengthy injury on Saturday when the club went down 2-1 to Sofapaka at the Kasarani Annex. He had initially marked his return last week in their 1-0 defeat to Ulinzi Stars.

Neto suffered a fractured shin early in the season and was feared that he would spent the rest of the season on the sidelines but returned last weekend although he is yet to earn a start since shaking off the injury.

Akhulia whose side has been struggling to win matches in a convincing way told the forward the team had invested hopes in him in the remaining five matches. Bidco have the third low goal returns after Wazito and Ulinzi Stars.

Bidco acquired the burly forward before the season began from Zoo FC and in his absence, Akhulia has been relying on David Orem and Eric Gichimu to score goals.

"I acknowledge that he is still rusty after being out for quite some time. We are very blunt upfront and we are counting on him to give us his best version in the remainder of the season," he said.

With Bidco hanging loosely above the red zone, Akhulia admitted that they were under pressure to win the remaining matches and save themselves the shame that tags along with finishing in the red zone.

" We have to win our next game at all costs for the pressure from the two teams behind us is immense. We have not been doing good due to a number of issues which have seen us lose to teams that have never beaten us before," he added.
