Akhulia hinted at making changes in the game against the Dockers.

Bidco United head coach Anthony AKhulia admits that his side was not at its best against Kenya Police FC on Saturday, a match in which they went down 2-0 to the law enforcers at the Police Sacco grounds.

United fell to the law enforcers to hand them their first win of the season in what was coach Zdravko Logarusic’s first match in charge, and he will be relishing the positive start on his return to Kenyan football. Kenneth Muguna and Clinton Kinanga scored the goals for the police.

The Croat was appointed as the new Police FC coach on Thursday and was immediately tasked with leading the team against the Thika-based side, and at the end of the game, he left smiling.

His opposite number, Akhulia, who a week earlier had registered his first triumph of the campaign after overcoming FC Talanta, was not too impressed. He pointed out his midfield as the area where they struggled the most.

“It was a game where we were not at our best. We really struggled, especially in midfield, considering we played the last game so well,” the former United midfielder said.

“I was expecting they would do the same as they did in the last match against Talanta, but it wasn’t. My midfielders all struggled in the middle, so it was a game we thought would be easy but wasn’t.”

The tactician is picking lessons from the defeat as they look to bounce back in their next game against Bandari FC.

“It is something we have learned. In our next match, we need to come up and be the team that we are,” he added.

Akhulia further hinted at making changes in the game against the Dockers.

“This is only our fifth match, though, so I think we will go back and see who comes in, who deserves to rest, and who warrants playing well against Bandari in our next match because we have a good squad.”
