Alembi dreams pro football after dazzling debut for Stars

Towering KCB central defender Nahashon Alembi believes his solid display against Togo in the final Africa Cup of Nations qualifier will earn him offers from abroad. 

Alembi who is two seasons old in the top flight made his Harambee Stars debut in a friendly match against South Sudan last month partnering with Johnstone Omurwa at the heart of the defence.

However it was his performance against Togo which left him convinced that he aptly marketed himself to suitors who watched the televised match.

"I am sure offers will start drooling soon thanks to my performance with the national team. The two matches were televised and I trust that I played well and showcased my talent to the world," he said.

Alembi who joined the bankers at the start of the season from Ushuru thanked coach Zedekiah "Zico"Otieno for having faith in him despite lacking top flight experience.

The former Leeds United player who spent the 2018-2019 season at Tusker but failed to make his league debut said Otieno revived his hopes of playing at the senior level after headhunting from Ushuru.

"My gratitude goes to the national team technical bench for giving me the opportunity. I would not have reached there had Zico not signed me from Ushuru. When I was called to the national team, he gave me tips on how to conduct myself at the camp and how to develop the right attitude and confidence in case I would be given playing time," he disclosed.

Alembi had joined Tusker from National Super League Murang'a seal, a club he called home the whole of 2017.

Previously, he had turned for Kangemi All Stars whom he joined in 2016 after completing his studies at the Highride Secondary School.
