Kisumu All Stars coach Charles Bruno has expressed his satisfaction with the team's recent performance.

The Kisumu-based club had a slow start to the season but has managed to pull off a string of positive results, posting three consecutive wins, with the latest being a 2-1 win over the Kibera Black Stars at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu last weekend.

The latest results have seen the Charles Bruno-managed side move places up the log, being positioned third with eight points after five rounds of the National Super League matches played, and this has left the coach pleased.

"I am delighted by the overall input by the lads after a slow start in our opening two fixtures against Silbweti Leon's and Nairobi United, which we drew and lost, respectively. They have shown character by turning around the negative results." The tactician said

Otenga, as they are commonly referred to, are five points adrift from table-toppers Mara Sugar, who are on 13 points. However, the tactician rules out pressure to keep up with the momentum but believes the team has what it takes to compete.

"The last three outings are the kind of results any tactician will hope to continue coming their way. I am glad we've managed this collectively, but it's still way early into the season, and I am not in any way under pressure or directing it towards my players to keep up with the momentum. I want them to enjoy themselves and handle a game at a time. We have a good squad that we did strength with a few experienced inclusions, and I believe we got what it takes to compete throughout the season." He added.

Until his appointment as All Stars coach, Bruno was at the club in the same capacity, but in an assistant position. He says there is a realistic opportunity to fight for the title, but a respectful finish within the top bracket at the end of the season will be a welcome performance in his first season in charge of the team.

"I believe we are able to compete, and to compete, we need to win our matches, but the reality is that in football, you will not be able to win all of them. I am optimistic that if we put in a good fight, a respectable finish among the top finishers will be a welcomed achievement in my first full season in charge of the club," he concluded.

Next on the cards for All Stars is an away trip to Machakos, where they will take on Mully Children's Family FC.
