Nairobi City Stars are yet to register their maiden win of the season but assistant coach John Amboko has noted that the team has improved following the challenging start to the season.

After being title contenders for the majority of the annulled campaign last season, Simba wa Nairobi have struggled to replicate their form this term.

Of the six matches played this season, City Stars have collected only two points after draws against Posta Rangers and Kariobangi Sharks.

Nicholas Muyoti’s side have suffered four losses already against Bidco United, Tusker, FC Talanta, and Nzoia Sugar, leaving them just a point above the relegation zone.

Amboko admitted that there have been improvements in the side since the 1-0 loss to Nzoia as he added that they will lay proper preparations for their clash against AFC Leopards.

“When you compare the previous game we played against Nzoia, there is a lot of improvement, the players have gelled and it's only getting the three points that is left.

We will continue working the way we have been working and we will have to prepare well for the next game. We will give our players two or three days rest before resuming training,” said Amboko.

The 2020 National Super League (NSL) champions will take on Ingwe on Wednesday 4 January.
