Following the tradition of champions in basketball, baseball, and American football, the winners of tomorrow's World Cup final will also receive championship rings as a symbol of their triumph
The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has decided to introduce a major innovation at this year's FIFA World Cup. In addition to lifting the iconic golden trophy and receiving their winners' medals, the World Cup champions will also be awarded unique, personalized championship rings—a tradition borrowed from American professional sports.
Inspired by the customs of the NBA, NFL, and MLB, FIFA is introducing this exclusive symbol of victory for football's world champions for the very first time. Each ring will be custom-made and personalized for every player and member of the winning nation's coaching staff.

The rings will be produced in a strictly limited edition of 2,026 pieces, symbolizing the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Of those, 30 rings will be reserved for members of the championship-winning team, while the remaining 1,996 will be made available to fans around the world as officially licensed FIFA merchandise.
The championship ring will be crafted from premium materials. Along with diamonds and gold elements, each ring will feature engraved details including:
- The player's full name and shirt number.
- The official logo of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
- The result of the final match and the name of the nation crowned world champions
The move is widely seen as a direct influence of American sports culture, fitting given that the tournament is being hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
FIFA has also prepared something special for passionate collectors. A strictly limited edition of replica championship rings will be released for public sale. Although the official price has yet to be announced, these collector's items are expected to command extraordinary prices on the market and become one of the most sought-after sports memorabilia pieces in history.
