The Portuguese coach gave a straight detail about Fernandes-Real Madrid roumors

Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, insists that the Red Devils are ready to meet the Bruno Fernandes ambitions and has denied any possibility of the captain leaving Old Trafford this summer.

Fernandes is currently in his best form since joining United, having scored seven goals in his last seven matches ahead of tonight’s away game against Nottingham Forest. The 30-year-old Portuguese midfielder has so far registered 16 goals and 15 assists this season.

Over the weekend, reports surfaced about a possible transfer of United’s current captain to Real Madrid in a deal worth 90 millions, allegedly to raise funds for new signings. However, Amorim was quick to shut down these rumors, saying:

"It’s not going to happen. This is the kind of player that we want, and he’s not going anywhere because I’ve already told him! He’s 30, but he’s still so young because he plays 55 games every season, and between assists and goals, he’s there for at least 30. He’s the type of player we want here."

Reports suggest that Fernandes himself wanted to ensure that his ambitions aligned with those of the club before extending his contract until June 2027.

Speculation about his future arose largely due to criticism of his body language, which some interpreted as a sign of dissatisfaction at the club. However, Amorim once again responded firmly:

"That is the challenge. We want to win the Premier League again, so we want the best players to continue with us. We are in control of the situation. I feel that he is really happy here, especially because he understands what we want to do, and I think he is one more supporter of Man United. He really feels it. Sometimes the frustration that you see, that everybody sees, and maybe says is not a good thing in a captain—it’s a sign that he wants this so badly."
