While the result eased the relegation pressure on Bomet, it left Mathare at the danger of dropping into the red zone
APS Bomet walked home Ksh1.85 million after securing a 2-0 win over Mathare United in an FKF Premier League match played today, Sunday 10 May at the Kasarani Annex.
The millions are courtesy of Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Interior and Coordination of National Government, Kipchumba Murkomen, who promised Ksh50,000 to every player and officials in the match day squad should they win their last five matches of the season.

The team secured millions following their 1-0 win over KCB in the preceding fixture.
The monetary promise is aimed at helping the team retain its top flight status.
Against Mathare, took the lead in the 28th minute through Philip Wasai, who slotted the ball past Kevin Ouru.
The move was initiated by the experienced Francis Omondi who looped the ball behind the Mathare defense leaving Wasai to get the job done.
Philemon Nyakwaka had a chance to double the scores in the 35th minute but his shot was blocked by Brian Ochieng.
The Slum Boys introduced Michael Oduor for Benson Shikutwa before restart in a bid to restore parity.
However, it was APS who got the first chance of the half in the 48th minute when Nyakwaka, once again, on a one-on-one with the goalkeeper took too long to pull the trigger allowing the defence to recover.
Mathare’s first chance of the half came via a corner in the 57th minute when Bilal Atano got to the end of an Oduor corner, but headed over the bar.
Second half substitute Festus Kipkemoi would then deliver a stunner in the 75th minute to double the lead for APS Bomet, much to the delight of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police and club deputy patron Gilbert Masengeli, who was in attendance.
