Nuno Tavares failed to make his presence felt at Emirates, and after two loans, he could be offloaded permanently at the end of the season
Arsenal are determined to sell Nuno Tavares at the end of the season, as the Portuguese left-back has attracted the attention of several clubs, most notably Serie A heavyweights SS Lazio.
As per Football London website, until then, Tavares will remain on loan at Nottingham Forest after a deal with Olympique Marseille to leave permanently fell apart with the Premier League club needing Tavares, 24, to cover for injuries and absences from the African Cup of Nations.
Arsenal did not insert a recall clause into Tavares' loan move to Forest, preventing them from calling him back without an agreement.
In the meantime, Tavares has drawn interest from Lazio, whose new boss, Igor Tudor, worked with Tavares last season when he was Marseille's head coach, whilst the Gunners' defender was on loan.
A thigh injury meant that Tavares missed the last four league games for Forest and he could miss plenty more.
On the other hand, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior, Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu all occupy the left-back slot in north London, and it's almost impossible for Tavares to break into and, therefore, the impending exit is not surprising but could also be beneficial financially for the Gunners.
