Arsenal still want Vlahovic but his agent won't pick up the phone

Arsenal have a desire to buy one of the most effective strikers in Serie A, and have the funds to do it in January 2022, but the player and his agent have other ideas. Even his club Fiorentina are into the idea, but cannot do anything about it, if the player doesn't want to sign, and that seems to be the case.

After Fiorentina announced that their striker won't sign a new contract and become the most paid player in the history of the club, the rumors started to circulate and his agent got a number of calls about the young Serb. It is clear that Fiorentina will sell him, as they don't want to allow Vlahovic to leave for free (his contract runs out in 2023), but the Serbian international doesn't want to go just anywhere.

So far, Juventus, Tottenham and Arsenal have showed their interest for the forward who scored 13 goals so far, and ideally for Fiorentina, he would leave for England. That way, they would get more money for the player, but also avoid strengthening Juventus, who is also keen. But, the most successful club in Italy has a history of working around the player, as they end up in Turin.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Arsenal have been trying to contact Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, but the agent won’t even take their calls. The Gunners are trying to present its vision to the Serb and maybe win him over, but they are not even replying to their calls. Tottenham are a distant third in this race, but maybe Antonio Conte's presence could change things. Fiorentina are in fear that the Serbia international has already struck a deal with Juventus and will reject all other proposals until he gets his way, similar to the approach taken in recent years by both Federico Chiesa and Sassuolo’s Manuel Locatelli.
