Despite Juventus and Atletico Madrid's keen interest in him, the former Man City captain reportedly decided to fulfil his childhood dream and join the Catalans

Barcelona are on a shopping spree!

It seems the Catalans decided to buy every player worth having in the June Transfer Window. They agreed to bring Anthony Gordon from Newcastle, set aside €100 million for Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez, and their latest addition will almost certainly be - Bernardo Silva!

In the past few years, the 31-year-old midfielder was linked with Barca several times, but never left Pep Guardiola and the Cityzens. Now, the time seems to have come.

According to the Portuguese media outlet A Bola, Silva doesn't even mind taking a 50% pay cut of €8 million, just to fulfil his childhood dream and join the Catalans.

Despite strong interest from Juventus, Atletico Madrid, and Benfica in the ex-City captain, he reportedly chose Barca, as he wanted to be close to his homeland for the sake of family stability, given that he and his wife, Ines Tomaz, are expecting their second child.

A Bola reports that the negotiations between the two parties are in advanced stages, and only a miracle could stop Bernardo from following in his former teammate Ilkay Gundogan's footsteps, who joined Barca as a free agent in 2023 after a seven-year stint with the Cityzens.
